Neon: The Fabric of Our Lives (Saturday, February 26, 2011)

LIRR ticket: Stephanie & Tee’s Engagement Party @ The Sayville Republican Club

Funky high heel stamp: CHERYL: WE’RE BACK IT’S AN EMERGENCY HAVE SEX WITH US @ Public Assembly Loft

After spending the morning dressed as Super Mario whilst filming the video for next weekend’s CHERYL: CASTLE party (check it out here!), we met up with some friends on the Long Island Railroad, and headed out to Sayville for my friends Stephanie and Tee’s engagement party. Their friend Stealth Bomber was DJing, and he played an awesome mix of old-school hip hop, R&B, and generally dancey stuff that got everyone psyched. Plus, a number of the crew present are breakdancers/house dancers, so there was a great circle going in the center of the floor. Lots of fun. Many many congrats, ladies!

We just barely made the train back to NYC, and headed straight for Public Assembly, where the CHERYL crew were throwing an emergency party. We entered, and things were in full swing. A big neon swath of fabric was being passed around, which we all danced underneath. Then some homemade computing equpiment from the day’s shoot made its way around, and we got some business documents drawn up. Nick was DJing, and played lots of joyous tunes including Heart’s “These Dreams”, which was a big hit. Eventually, the dancefloor got sparse and rowdy. We ran around like psychos doing drunk Jazzercise, until it was nearing time for the sun to rise.
